FAQ

NO ONE WAY? (ROUND TRIP vs OPEN RETURN)

For your convenience, we offer two options of travel:

  1. ROUND TRIP: pick your prefered date and time for the trip there and the trip back.

  2. OPEN RETURN: Have you tought about going to Whistler early in the morning enjoy the day and come back whenever you feel like it? This option provides you one ticket with your spot secured for the departure time, and the right to use that same ticket to board any bus available during the same day for your return. IMPORTANT: If the bus you plan to board is full you will have to wait for the next one, that is something you need to consider seriously before buying this option, In the case you don´t like to wait then your option is the normal round trip where you can have a specific date and time for your return. With WhistlerRides, you are always given a roundtrip! if you have any doubt not explained here please contact any member of our staff.

    • Remember open returns are ONLY valid on the same day of your booking, with the same ticket, (subject to space in shuttle) / you might have to wait for the next bus if the one you want is full. NOTE: IF YOU WANT TO SECURE YOUR RETURN SCHEDULE, AND AVOID HAVING THE RISK OF WAITING, PLEASE SELECT A REGULAR ROUNDTRIP.

IMPORTANT:

  • Your Open Return is treated as a standby, strictly subject to availability on the same day that you picked for it.

  • If you do not use your Open Return on the designated date, you lose it.

  • Open returns are only valid on the same day with the same ticket

  • If you want to guarantee your return, time and schedule please purchase a Round Trip and select the exact dates and times for both departures, as the Open Return option is strictly subject to availability and there is always a chance that you may not get a seat on the departure of your choice.

  • In the case that there are more Open Return passengers wanting to travel at the same time than there are available seats (Roundtrip customers and Multi-Pass holders are always seated first), they will be accommodated based on the date of original purchase (first purchased, first served)
  • If you wait for the last shuttle of the day and its full you will have to wait untill next day under your own cost.
PRICES?
  1. ROUNDTRIP: $31.98 CAD + tax ($24.99 CAD +tax could appy in certain dates, in certain routes and could be applied to a segment of your roundtrip)

  2. OPEN RETURN (Vancouver to Whistler booking): $22.99 CAD + tax ($24.99 CAD +tax could apply in certain dates)

  3. OPEN RETURN (Whistler to Vancouver booking): $22.99 CAD + tax ($24.99 CAD +tax could apply in certain dates)

BOOK NOW, PAY LATER? We do not offer a “Book Now, Pay Later” option. Trip reservations are confirmed only once the payment has been processed.
WALK-UPS WELCOME?
We welcome all walk-up passengers. However, we can only accommodate walk-up passengers once all Secured Roundtrip and any Open Return passengers have boarded. Walk-ups are strictly subject to availability. Also, please note that all walk-up passengers must pay cash. No other forms of payment can be accepted by the driver at the time of departure. This also means that you must pay the ticket price in exact change.
CALL TO PURCHASE?
We are always happy to accept a booking over the phone. Call us at (604) 715-0196 to book, or just inquire about any details of our service. Please note that only credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover) purchases may be processed over the phone (no debit). However, an Interac e-transfer may also be arranged over the phone if that is your preferred option for payment.
CANCELLATIONS?
If you wish to cancel your purchase and receive an internal credit for your trip, you must inform us in advance. No refunds are issued. Regarding to cancelations made less than 24 hours prior to departure date a new ticket needs to be bought. Please contact us by email at contact@whistlrrides.ca or by phone at (604)-715-0196 Alternatively, you may choose not to cancel you ticket and ask us to keep it open-ended until such time as your travel dates are confirmed. Simply email us to make this request. Please note that although we are happy to accommodate this, we cannot guarantee seat availability for the dates you will end up choosing in the future.
CAN I BRING MY LUGGAGE AND SPORTS GEAR?
The transportation of your luggage and sports gear is included with your purchase. Please note that in the Spring/Summer season, only one bike per person is allowed. .
CAN I BRING MY PET(S)?
We cannot accommodate transportation of pets. Exception: service animals accompanying an individual inside the coach (CNIB or DSI card required).
AIRPORT SERVICE?
Click here, to see a map on how to quickly get from the airport to our pick up location using the convenient SKY TRAIN, however we do not, at this time, offer direct services at the YVR Airport, unless it’s a Private Group Carter booking. How many Seats are available?
Live availability can be seen as you book your trip on our website, simply go ahead and start booking your dates.
DEPARTURE SCHEDULES AND PICK/UP DROP/OFF LOCATIONS?

Vancouver: Corner of Burrard and Melville Streets, at the side entrance to The Hyatt Regency Hotel (next to the entrance to “Staples” Office Supplies Store)

Whistler Village: At the Gondola transit Exchange, off Blackcomb Way.

Whistler Creekside: At the bus loop in front of the Legends Hotel, under the bridge.  

PLEASE NOTE: we are only able to pick up passengers at this location, when travelling southbound to Vancouver. Our operational permits do not allow up to drop off passengers at Creekside.

We are not permitted to make stops anywhere besides the above described designated spots. All requests to be dropped off outside of the designated areas will be refused.

WHEN TO ARRIVE FOR DEPARTURE?
We request that all passengers arrive at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure time; 15-20 minutes before is ideal. Please understand that we request this in order to allow sufficient time for loading all luggage/equipment, ensuring everyone is boarded comfortably, and departing on time. If you expect that you might be running late, please call us know right away by calling 604 715-0196.
RUNNING LATE?
Punctuality is of utmost importance to us, as we strive to ensure that all of our customers get proper service. We will allow a waiting period of 5 minutes if you inform us of running late. The driver reserves the right to leave after the specified time has passed. We highly stress that 5 minutes is the most time we allow for late departure. We cannot accommodate your late arrival past that time. If you do not call us to inform, the bus will leave on time as scheduled and your absence will count as a missed departure. Please note that we do not refund missed departures. .
DO YOU HAVE WiFi?
We offer complimentary WiFi on board of our shuttles. The password can be found on the information sheet located at the front of every bus, or you can simple ask your driver for it. Please note that this is not a guaranteed service (connection may drop during the trip and the driver is not able to address any troubleshooting while driving).
DO YOU HAVE WASHROOMS?
Our shuttles are not equipped with washrooms. We are also not allowed to make any stops for passengers washroom breaks. Please take this into account when travelling.
HOW LONG DOES THE TRIP TAKE?
The trips are typically 1 h 45 minutes.
CAN I CHANGE MY TICKET?
WhistlerRides offers FREE ticket changes. within the 24 hour time frame, Please text/call +1 (604) 715 0196 or email contact@whistlerrides.ca to request the change. You will receive a new ticket and a confirmation. PLEASE NOTE: if you do not receive a confirmation, your request has not been processed. Please also note that if the request is made less than 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time, we may not be able to accommodate it due to availability without a fare.
